Design & Structure

A polyurethane pulley is typically composed of a steel drum body, shaft, end discs, bearing assemblies, and a bonded polyurethane lagging layer. The drum pulley shell is manufactured from high-strength carbon steel or alloy steel, ensuring sufficient rigidity and resistance to deformation under high belt tension.

The shaft is designed according to torque transmission and bending stress calculations, ensuring reliable performance when installed as a conveyor belt drive pulley or head drum pulley. End discs are precisely machined and welded to the shell to maintain concentricity and balance during operation.

The polyurethane lagging is bonded to the drum surface using advanced bonding processes, providing strong adhesion and long-term durability. Compared with rubber lagging, polyurethane offers better resistance to oil, moisture, and chemical exposure. This makes the polyurethane pulley suitable for both head pulley and tail pulley positions in challenging environments.
